What counts as a plumbing emergency

If you can hear running water you can't see, or water is reaching electrical outlets, or sewage is backing up through a floor trap — call us first and the upstairs neighbour second.

  • Burst supply pipes inside walls or above ceilings
  • Overflowing toilets or floor-trap backflow
  • Water heater tank rupture with active leak
  • Mains pressure loss across the whole flat
  • Ceiling drips from the unit above (we coordinate access)
  • Failed shut-off valves preventing isolation of a leak

What to do before we arrive

Three minutes of damage control

Step 1 · Find the main shut-off

Most KL condo flats have a single mains valve in the utility riser cabinet by the front door. Turn it clockwise until it stops.

Step 2 · Kill the water heater

Switch off the heater breaker at the DB box. A tank with no inflow can still leak hot water for several minutes.

Step 3 · Move power away

If water is heading toward sockets or power strips, switch the affected circuit off at the breaker. Don't pull a plug while standing in water.

Step 4 · Photograph everything

Photos of the leak, the affected items, and any neighbour damage will make insurance and management committee paperwork far easier later.
