Repair or Replace?
Our honest rule: if a repair costs more than 40% of a new equivalent unit, or the tank itself is corroded, we recommend replacement and show you the math. Otherwise we repair. Instant heaters typically serve 8–10 years; storage tanks 6–12 depending on water quality and maintenance.
Safety flag: if your shower gives a faint tingle, switch the heater off at the isolator and call us the same day. That is earth leakage — the one plumbing fault that genuinely cannot wait.
